Vision and Mission

Our vision for our courses is to provide an online home for teaching The Clarion Way to individuals who are resonant, capable, and willing to embody the wisdom and practice of the philosophy of The Soul and Service Trilogy.

A partnership forms between the knowledge that resides within us
and our outer life
circumstances.  By
accepting the rigorous discipline of this partnership, our soul's essence emerges, and we attain our fullest potential.
~ Susan Trout, PhD, Born to Serve

Our mission is to provide courses that enliven the three books of The Soul and Service Trilogy – Born to Serve, The Awakened Leader, and The Clarion Call and that support students to learn, practice, and integrate teachings in soul development, service, leadership, and group life.

The Institute for the Advancement of Service does not provide medical or mental health care.  As such, courses and study programs are not intended to be psychotherapy, medical therapy, or a substitute for either one.  Participants are required to assume self-responsibility for their wellbeing by seeking, when appropriate, psychological and medical professional care. As co-partners in the courses in which they are enrolled, participants are asked to set intentions, do assignments, respect IAS communication guidelines, and in all ways participate with self-responsibility for their wellbeing.
